Random bit of information for the day - Certified MySQL DBAs are in great demand. Companies do not seem to be able to find enough of them for the moment. People with 2-5 years of experience are asking, and getting, > INR 20 lacs (INR 2 million) annual salary. By comparison 'routine' software engineers - C/C++, .Net, C#, Java, PHP etc - with that kind of experience get much less than that. I was under the impression that programming jobs in software engineering paid the most. Appears like a temporary demand supply gap with certified MySQL professionals in short supply for some time to come. Opportunity to make some good money while it lasts.
